About me

I have lived in the Sevenoaks area most of my life. I’m married with two older children. I started my working life as a craftsman in 1972 and over the years this turned into running jewellery manufacturing businesses, which I enjoyed developing. I closed my last business in 2006 after some eighteen years (where I employed some fifteen people). The last few years were stressful, combining running the busines in what was an increasingly competitive business environment, with my therapy training. I had been hoping to keep both going, but in the end I had to make choice, my deeper interest at this point was in my new life as a counsellor and psychotherapist and I had been working too hard for too long.

Since being a troubled teenager I have been trying to understand life, and I have looked at many approaches over the years. In 1986 I had started my own therapy, which I found wonderfully liberating. It was a great relief to at last understand what had been driving me to be the way I was. In 1999 I at last managed to embarked on the daunting journey of becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist and spent over ten years studying for an MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist.

I started practising in 2001, I started my own practice in Weald in 2004, before moving to Withyham, East Sussex in July 2011.
